You hear these comments all the time with regard to scale build up in boiling drinking water taps like Quooker and Zip Hydro Tap, Heatrae Sadia and Instanta wall mounted drinks boilers, all makes of coffee machines, steamers and other boiling hot drinking water systems.
High mineral content in large parts of the UK mains tap water will have caused many of these problems and will eventually cause all untreated appliances to the clog up with lime scale.

How does the Claris filter easily improve the water and add years of life to your appliance?
The highest minerals content in UK mains water lies around 20GH. (GH, German Hardness: The chosen standard measurement of the Claris water filter) As an example the Claris XL water filter due to the 5 blend stage filtration system is able to treat 7,200 litres of water with a mineral content of 20GH. The filter reduces the levels of calcium and other minerals within the water, therefore protecting all hot and cold water drinking appliances such as the Quooker boiling water tap, Zip hydro tap, Instanta and Heatrae Sadia wall boilers, steamers and all types of coffee machines from potential scale damage.
The Claris filter has customisable settings to allow the perfect level of minerals to be retained, this is important not only for the protection of appliances from scale damage but to create a good glass of drinking water: Water without mineral content is not very appealing in taste and does not extract the right amount of flavour for a good cup of coffee or tea.
Additionally the Claris filters all the water through a 5 micron carbon block reducing levels of chlorine and other offensive taste and odours, as well as small particles, ensuring you have the highest quality drinking water at all times.
